Vaping As A Stepping Stone To Quit Smoking

I made a post 6 years ago about how vaping helped my husbandto stop smoking. I’m happy to inform you that he still hasn’t touched a cigarette smoke for 6 years now all thanks to vape products.

I don’t personally use them, but if one is planning to get rid of smoking then I’d say this is the first step to do it, transitioning from cigarette smoking to vaping. I also see celebrities like Dave Chappelle using a vape pen while doing one of his stand-up comedy shows. He is also known to be a heavy smoker before.

It seems vape is continuously evolving. Disposable vape is quite popular nowadays. It’s probably because it’s cheaper, colorful, and easier to use which is why they’re quite popular especially to newbies.

I am not saying that vaping is healthy. It still has risks just like cigarette smoking.  According to American Health Association (AHA), they do note that vaping liquids contain fewer contaminants than cigarettes. However, they also state that vaping is not safe due to the following reasons:

  • E-cigarettes contain a large dose of nicotine, a substance known to slow the development of brains in fetuses, children, and teens.
  • The liquid that creates the vapor is dangerous to adults and children if they swallow or inhale it or get it on their skin.
  • Vaping also delivers several dangerous chemicals, including diacetyl, cancer-causing chemicals, heavy metals, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Vaping may normalize smoking again as it becomes more popular.

So I just wanted to reiterate once again to not use vaping as your alternative to smoking permanently. I’m saying you may use vaping as a stepping stone towards quitting smoking. It also means you have to eventually let go of vaping, too,  once you’re ready or once your body is ready to give it up. You also have to have that will to stop, as simple as that.
