After spending a lot of money customizing your car, the last thing you want to see on it is a scratch. Using car masks and bras is highly recommended, but you always want to avoid having another vehicle make contact with yours to avoid scratches and dents. Here are some common-sense tips for keeping your car looking fantastic.

Practice Your Parallel Parking Skills
One great aspect of parallel parking is that you can be confident no one will park directly next to you. However, plenty of drivers avoid it because they think it is too hard. Carve out some time on a weekend to practice parallel parking on some side streets in the suburbs. Use traffic cones to stand in for cars in front of and behind you.
Drive Safely in Parking Lots
Parking lots are the most likely place for scratches to occur. Other drivers may accidentally scrape the side of your car while pulling out or ding your car when they open their doors. You can reduce the chances of this happening by parking as far away from the store entrance as you can. You can also park in an end space to reduce the chances of a scrape by 50 percent.
Avoid Extreme Weather Exposure
Keep your vehicle garaged if a hail storm will come through town. You also want to be careful if there will be heavy winds. These gusts can blow twigs, small stones and dust into your vehicle, causing paint damage. If people must park their cars outside during a storm, then they should at least utilize weatherproof car covers.
Keep Items Off Your Vehicle
The only things you should place on your vehicle are water and soft clothes. Leave tools and other items off your car because you may accidentally scratch your vehicle yourself.
