Simple Health Tips You Can Do at Home

The COVID-19 pandemic has really put a halt to our normal lifestyle especially the gyms and other recreations. But even if there’s a pandemic, health-buff people are still finding ways to stay healthy despite the pandemic and most of their activities are held indoors. I admit I’m one of the lazy people around when it comes to exercise because after working, I wanted to simply just rest and sleep.  But doing so makes me weak and I started to feel numbness on my arms and legs.

Simple Health Tips at Home

So I checked online for some simple exercises - so simple that I think it's suited for lazy people like me. I know I shouldn’t start too aggressively so here’s what I found (in no particular order):

  1. Stand up at least every hour.  Working in front of a computer can make you lose track of time making you sit for hours. So if you can, you can set an alarm every hour to remind yourself to stand up. I try to do this now by standing up and getting some water, coffee, or going to the bathroom.
  2.  If you lie down on the bed because you’re feeling lazy while working at home, do some stretches. According in an article from WebMD, you can do some isometric moves in bed to strengthen and stretch your body, which is one of the simple exercises you can do on your bed among other things.
  3. Stop everything and smell the flowers. If you work at home, maximize your break times by going out, looking at the trees while having coffee or go have a quick visit to your plant babies if you have some. Do some deep breathing while you’re at it, too.
  4. Buy exercise equipment. This is probably a last resort for lazy people like me, but if you have simple exercise equipment that are close to your workstation like a gym ball, go anywhere workout bars, or even a treadmill, then there’s a chance for you to be inspired to follow a workout routine because they’re accessible to you.
  5. If exercise is just not your thing, then at least get 8 hours of sleep and drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Yes, I know we’ve been hearing it again and again since school days, but the more you get older, the more you realize its importance, especially sleep. You'll definitely feel better once you accomplish at least one of the two.

Well, that’s all for now, folks. I hope you enjoyed reading my simple tips. If you have any comment, share them in the comments below.
