Our Day Trip to Virgin Beach Resort
We recently went to Virgin Beach Resort in Laiya, Batangas as my husband's advance birthday gift for me (yey!). We availed the day trip package, which includes a lunch buffet already.
The ride coming from Paranaque, going there was almost 3 hours - very far and exhausting especially for someone who hasn't driven a car or a vehicle in a long time, but somehow my husband was able to pull through. Plus, my sister-in-law helped him drive there (thank you!), so he had support in case he didn't feel well.
Since we went on a Sunday, there was a short line in the reception area. Since we had reserved online beforehand (and paid already), our names were on the list and were processed right away. The receptionist gave us the number of our cabana, and we went there right away.

Since we booked in advance, I think we got once of the nicest cabanas since we're located right beside the restaurant and it has a beach front view! There were also cabanas at the back, but I guess it's for walk-ins depending on availability.

Dining Cabana Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes, but for the food, you can only bring chips and biscuits. If you brought foods other than that, you will be charged a corkage fee. For the drinks, you can only bring bottled water. I do recommend not bringing any more because they offer all-day free water and ice in the restaurant so you can go there anytime and get hydrated.
2. Does the cabana have an outlet where we can charge?
Yes, our cabana has two power outlets so we were able to use electronic devices.
3. Until what time can you stay?
8 AM is the check-in and then 5PM is the check-out.
4. Can we order food?
I wasn't able to check if you can order food online there like Grab Food, but you can order food and drinks in the restaurant. I just found it irritating to know that most of their menus were unavailable, like the pepperoni pizza, iced coffees, and fruit juices. The manager mentioned that since it's a Sunday, most of their foods would go out-of-stock which often happens on weekends.
5. How much was the dining cabana?
We paid Php 2,000 for the dining cabana. The website says 1,500, but they added some additional charges. Then we paid P1,200 per head, inclusive of lunch buffet.
6. Are pets allowed?
Yes, but I think they have an additional charge for pets. You may go to Virgin Beach Resort's website for more info. We also saw young boys with their golden retriever dog and the dog was really swimming and having a blast! It was fun to watch.
The Lunch Buffet (12PM-2PM)
So after swimming in the morning, you usually look forward to their lunch buffet. They offered the following food:
- Salad
- White rice
- Pinakbet
- Sweet and Sour (Breaded) Chicken
- Barbecue Porkchop
- Buko Pandan
- Unlimited ice water
The lunch was just all right - just enough to fill your tummy, but not that satisfying. Sorry, I wasn't able to take a picture of the buffet spread because I was tired.
Because of the limited selection, I was forced to order more such as fried chicken, chicken sandwich, sisig, pizza, and some drinks for the fam. I was just disappointed that many items on the menu were not available because it's a Sunday. The manager mentioned that they're usually out of stock during the weekends.

I also ordered a 4-cheese pizza because their pepperoni was not available, sad to say. I ordered at 12:30pm and they said that food will arrive at around 2PM since they're busy with the buffet service so we waited patiently, even though it was a little inconvenient.
So after lunch, there's plenty of time to enjoy the beach. It's best to dip in the afternoon because the waves are a bit stronger and the tides are a bit low, so it's more fun to bathe in.
