Marymount School in BF Homes

A fellow mommy reader inquired to me about Marymount School so I decided to go there out of the blue since I was free at that time. The school is situated inside another subdivision in BF Homes which makes it "extra" secure.

How did you overcome the biggest adversity you had in your life?

I had my own shares of pain in this world, but nothing could be more painful than losing someone you love. Two years ago, we lost our beloved pet dog named Mimi. We loved her and took care of her for more than 5 years. We all consider her as part of the family. Whenever she get sick, we drive her to the vet right away and made sure she had her vitamins and followed a certain diet. Then just like that, she was gone due to a car accident. It was really heartbreaking. Some of us were crying for weeks and just couldn't eat. It was just like losing a family member.

Now how did I overcome this? Frankly speaking, I did nothing, but time helped tremendously in easing the pain, just one day at a time. They say "Time heals all wounds" and I agree to that, but they forgot to say that even if the wound is healed, it still leaves a mark.  When I remember what happened, it doesn't hurt as much, but the burden of losing her is still there. I guess there is no way of erasing it because I love her so much that I don't want to forget her. I just keep her in my heart and learn to move on with my life, and continue loving the people I have with me now. 

Now, they say adversities in life makes you strong and lessons are learned. Well, I don't know about the first part because I didn't feel strong, but the latter is true. The experience indeed taught me something very important - LOVE YOUR LOVED ONES AS IF IT WERE THEIR LAST. If only I knew it was Mimi's last day, I could have walked her to the park or I could have stayed with her all day. But I guess that's what God wants us to learn and that is nothing in this world is permanent and we should love ourselves and everyone around us as if it were our last day on this Earth. 

I dedicate this blog post to our beloved dog, Mimi, who unconditionally loved me and my family all her life. May you rest in peace, Momoi! You will forever be in our hearts.

Why Do I Love Thai Food? 

I love Thai Food because it is one of the epitomes of Asian food. They have noodles, rice, curry, hot pots, herbs - all of it! Its like all the food and flavors of Asia assembled in one category. Whenever we dine in a Thai restaurant, there's always something for each member of the family. My mom and my sister like spicy food so they're really in the right place because most Thai food are indeed spicy. My husband and my son loves noodles and Thai food offers lots of noodle variety and they're quite healthy, too, because they mix them with herbs and spices that's good for you which is also good for health-conscious people. Me and my brothers are suckers for chicken and we just love curry chicken which is a popular Thai dish which tastes best with bagoong rice.

So I guess what I'm trying to say here is I love Thai food because me and my family enjoys it because they're simply delicious and healthy. If you haven't tried Thai food yet, there's no reason not to and Just Thai is the best restaurant for an authentic Thai food experience. :)

Chloe's First Birthday Celebration

We went to Chloe's (my nephew-in-law's daughter) 1st birthday celebration in their house in Las Pinas and it's really one of the most enjoyable celebrations I've encountered. It was simple, but everyone had a great time. I guess spending your birthdays at home does have its perks and makes you feel a bit more relaxed as a guest than spending it in other venues.

A Trip to Paradizoo Farm

Last March 2, 2014, we went to Paradizoo Theme Farm in Mendez, Cavite so we could use the free tickets I won from Ms. Jhenz's blog (http://jeniferbalatico.blogspot.com/).We were hoping to see the parade, but it seems they changed the schedule so we weren't able to see it. But the kids don't mind and they're still excited to see what animals are in the zoo.
