GoHotels.Ph Ortigas: Affordable Hotel Just Walking Distance from Robinsons Galleria and Other Places

GoHotels.ph ortigas

I had to attend a Christmas party in Marco Polo, Ortigas last December 2 and since the party starts at 7PM and potentially ends after 12 midnight, I decided to check the room rates in Marco Polo so I can just conveniently check in my room after the party. Unfortunately, when I checked the overnight room rates of the hotel, they were quite expensive and way above my budget so I started to check other nearby hotels in the area.

So apparently, there are plenty of nice hotels around, but the one that won my heart was GoHotels Ortigas because of their overnight promo rate of Php1,533.87 net price! It's super cheap compared to nearby hotels that charge Php 3,500++ I reserved a room right away and I was able to reserve the room through the Robinsons Hotels app during the 10.10 sale. I wasn't required to pay in advance to reserve a room, which was a big plus for a thrifty mom like me. I just simply booked the room and paid when I checked in.

Check-In

Their check-in was simply the fastest check-in time I ever experienced.  Once I approached the reception, I said check-in and they simply asked for my ID. Upon checking my name, my reservation status immediately came up in their system. I didn't even have to show them my reservation ID. So after a few minutes, our room was ready and I was happy.

Room and Amenities

GoHotels Ortigas: Big Bed
The room looked exactly like what was advertised.
This was exactly what we saw once we opened the door.

The room was small but clean. Once I opened the door, the big king-size bed greeted us. It looked so clean and comfy. The pillows were soft, too! The room also had a separate toilet area and shower area. They're equipped with liquid soap and shampoo, plus some toothbrushes and toothpaste. The only downside was that they didn't provide free slippers or a bathrobe, but that's okay.

GoHotels Ortigas: Pitcher and mugs
We were provided a pitcher with 2 mugs inside the room. We can refill the pitcher with water outside.

View from The Room

Once I checked the window, we could see another building's window with cubicles in it so obviously it's an office space without anyone in it because it was a Saturday. In the end, we just closed the curtains for privacy for the whole duration of our stay.

Check Out

Check-out time was exactly 12 noon the next day. Since we didn't pack that much, checkout was also a breeze.

Just to summarize, here are the plus and minus points we experienced in GoHotels.Ph Ortigas:

Plus Points:

  • No deposit fee required
  • Pay as you check in / no need for credit card info for reservations.
  • Friendly staff
  • Clean and comfortable king-size bed.
  • Strong hot and cold water
  • Flat-screen TV with cable
  • Cool centralized airconditioning (similar to other hotels)
  • The hotel is just beside Starbucks and has other nearby convenience stores and fast food stores like Chowking and Mcdonald's. We had our breakfast in Chowking.
  • Can bring your own food and drinks inside since they have no room service.
  • Walking distance to Marco Polo Hotel, Meralco Theatre, and Robinsons Galleria!

Minus Points (but I'm not complaining since I know there will be shortcomings due to the price):

  • No kettle
  • No slippers
  • No robes
  • No refrigerator
  • Not much space if you have big luggage
  • No free bottled water inside. We had to go to their water station near the elevator to fill the pitcher that was provided.
In conclusion, my husband and I had a nice overnight stay. I just walked going to Marco Polo and walked back after the party was done. I would definitely stay here again if I had things to do in Ortigas. I definitely recommend this hotel for short stays or for people looking for cheap but clean rooms.
